Inspector Hiring Information
Inspectors staff the weigh facilities, weigh trucks to determine compliance and inspect driver / vehicle records. Inspectors are also responsible for data entry as well as other organizational skills. This is not a sworn police position.
People applying for an Inspector position must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license and be a High School Graduate.
If you meet any or all of the above requirements, you can proceed with the hiring process by filling out an application form through the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet.
Unlike sworn police officers in our department, Inspectors are still required to take the state merit exam

You must fill out an application and get on the state merit register before becoming a candidate for employment with KVE.
Salary
An Inspector makes $10.59 per hour and upon successful completion of a one year probationary period will receive a 5% increase that will be added to the hourly rate.
