Deputy Commissioner David G. Leddy
David Leddy began his police career in 1975 with the University of Kentucky and joined the Lexington Division of Police in 1977. He served as a traffic accident reconstructionist for twenty-four years and a was a sergeant in the Traffic Bureau when he retired from the Lexington Police in 2004 to take an appointment with KVE.
David Leddy received an associate degree in Police Science from Orange County Community College (NY, 1974) and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York College at Buffalo (1975). The Federal Highway Administration awarded Leddy the Division Administrator’s Award for Excellence in Highway Safety in 2004, in recognition for “outstanding achievements and dedication to the advancement of highway safety in the Commonwealth of Kentucky”.
David Leddy now serves as the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement.
